Paws in the Sand
The Society for
Advancement of Management (SAM) at Flagler College is proud to announce that we will be hosting
the 2nd Annual "Paws in the Sand" Dog Walk-A-Thon fundraiser to
benefit the Saint Augustine Humane Society!
The event will be held at beautiful Butler Beach Park East on SR-A1A and includes a one mile walk on the beach, music, food, and prizes. The walk-a-thon is open to dogs and their owners and runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with registration starting at 9:00 am. The walk takes approximately 45 minutes, so start and finish times are flexible. There will be plenty of fun activities for the whole family, even if you don't own a dog. The cost is $15 to register each dog online. Pledges may be entered online with the donations being tallied at 8:59:59 am EST.
Each dog and owner team is encouraged to reach a minimum goal of $200 to be entered into the drawing for the Grand Prize.
If you have any questions concerning the walk-a-thon, please contact Saint Augustine Humane Society at 904-829-2737.
The St. Augustine Humane Society is focused on prevention: preventing pet overpopulation, preventing the need to surrender animals to shelters, and ultimately preventing euthanasia. Resources are used for pet owners who are experiencing economic hardship with a variety of services, such as affordable spay and neuter programs, free pet food and supplies, medical assistance, and dog training scholarships.
The St. Augustine Humane Society is in critical need to fund its charity veterinary clinic, the only one of its kind in St. Johns County, which helps many pet owners keep their pets healthy and safe in loving homes. 100 percent of the Humane Society's funding comes from caring individuals and companies, as they do not receive government funding. Most of the problems that prompt people to consider surrendering pets – from behavior issues to a lack of money for pet food or vet care – are solvable. Working with the "Be a Pack Leader Dog Walking Club," the humane society is contributing to a scholarship fund that assists owners and dogs who deserve a chance to solve their problems
All proceeds will benefit the Saint Augustine Humane Society, to help prevent the need to relinquish pets to shelters.
